Electronic idle governor
Does anyone know if there is an electronic device to manage idle rpm in place of old system with vacuum valve?
I'm talking about mercedes petrol 1978 with stromberg carb. It should be a complex electronic device supply with a kit. Anyone knows? |

I don't know of a kit. In the late 70's VW used a box that varied ignition timing to stabilize idle speed.
Other cars use a vacuum servo to control idle. When vacuum drops, the plunger extends ( by a spring ) to prop up the idle. When the engine recovers, the plunger is pulled back. A small orifice is used in the vacuum line to prevent surging. |

Ciao. I know the system with vacuum governor but my big problem is that my vacuum governor is broken and i"be tried to find it all around Europe and USA without success. It is Pierburg brand installed on a stronberg 175 CD. Do You know someone has one spate or used to sell? Thanks

dm:
Check with Tim K; he has a supply of parts for the M110. M110 engines with carbutetors used the same vacuum governor as your Stromberg. http://www.peachparts.com/shopforum/mercedes-used-parts-sale-wanted/383483-1968-1976-used-mercedes-114-115-parts.html |
