250SE Air Conditioning & Power Steering

Hello Everybody
I was wondering if a 280SE (M130) Air Conditioning Unit would fit on a 250SE (M129) engine, and also if the Power Steering would work?

Thanks, Yannick

I believe they are identical. AC compressor is a York I think, in both cases. To be certain you'd have to do a side by side comparison though.

Both cars used what is called a 'lifting magnet' to boost RPM during idle. This is mounted on the intake manifold and is a part of the fuel linkage. These seem to be unique to the fuel injected cars.

I am not sure but I think they are in different places. So make sure if you are gathering parts you don't skip this one. It has to be the one that mounts on your intake manifold.

The brackets, which are small, are also different. And if you are having trouble finding one these were also used on the A/C units of the SL. Again with a different mounting bracket.

Also please be aware there were two different A/C under dash units used on these cars. The factory unit and an aftermarket made by Thermoking. The Thermoking was used on the early cars and is different in almost every way from the BEHR unit used on the later cars.
