Just finished up a number of big things, ending this past weekend. I replaced the windshield wiper linkage, which required the removal of the glovebox, radio, center tunnel carpet, and the heating/ventilation system (heater core unit and both ducts). It took about two days to do it.
While I had the heater cores out, I noticed that the hoses which connected the heater cores to the engine bay were all original, and 50 years old at that! Surprisingly, none of them were leaking. They were replaced with new ones upon re-assembly.
I then took the Heckflosse on a 1,500 mile road trip across the eastern seaboard this past weekend. The car performed excellently except for a few instances of vapor lock in the fuel system. I think my average fuel economy was in the low 20s.
