W123 200e automatic transmission compatibility
 

Good mornign all,

Due some technical problems on my W123 200e, I have to replace my automatic transmission.

It is a 722.115 on engine M115928....does anyone knows if I could install a newer automatic transmission in place of it?

It will be great to installa for example a 5 speed in place of my 4 speed and anyway the 722.115 is pratically impossible to find all over the world.

Does anyone have the compatibility list or info?

Near as I can tell, the 722.5 5 speed was only found in the 90 ish 300SL and 300CE. This used the M104 engine that is similar to the M103.

I don't know what bell housing shape your car has so I can't offer much more.

Anyway as far as I know, the 722.1 is extremely addicetd to faults!!! If I would swap it, do you know if I can use a different one such as 722.3??? It could be a good investiment. Anyone know witch one I can use and what is compatible and what I have to modify to adapt it? Please can someone help me?
