I think Michael is correct. Here is the M127 engine from a 66 230s W111.

Seriously though, looks like a m127, but one of the pics show 230sl but there is no fuel injection, so I'm confused.

Trans is the same as a 230sl, but there are no carbed w113, so that’s most likely out of a w108 or I guess possibly a w111. It’s a 250 motor it seems based on the head “250” mark. I would guess it was a 250s Automatic w108. I parted a 1969 280s that had a similar transmission and said “280se/sl” on it or something like that. The carbs alone are worth the money most likely. Add the transmission, and I’d be snatching that up if it was in my area. (I have a friend that lets me store stuff in his warehouse though.)

Oh wait, that tag is on the transmission, isn't it. I was wondering why it said 230 when the head stamp said 250.
I was looking for something for my w115 but I might go get this anyway, just for having.
