W108 Tool Roll
I found this roll of tools in the trunk of my ‘69 280S. Are there any glaring omissions? There aren’t any tools in the little pockets on upper flap. Thanks.

Here is an original tool bag from a 1972 280 SE 4.5 that has been in my family since new and was only recently unwrapped from the original plastic cover for the purpose of this picture.

I don't recognize the flat piece of steel next to the screwdriver.
What is that used for? Jim

I want to know that also. Doesn't look right to me. I also would like to know about the thing on the far left that looks like a long socket extension.

Looks like a tire pry bar of some sort, don't think that's standard issue.

That is an old hubcap removal tool that I added to the picture to see if anyone was really paying attention. Congratulations, but it did take a week for the "eagle eyes" to chime in. Everything else is original to the tool roll.

MB hubcap removal tool or just something that works?

With regard to the flat metal piece, it is not an M-B hub cap removal tool, but something from an American car, the exact make of which is long forgotten. It even has instructions for its use stamped into one of the wide sides. Last edited by ejboyd5; 03-23-2018 at 02:08 PM. |

Man, I spent a solid week tearing my garage apart looking for that mystery tool for my 280S tool roll!
Not really, (not that ambitious), but I sure had an eye out for it! Last edited by Rook; 03-23-2018 at 02:52 PM. |

Healthy attitude with an honest reply. It's refreshing not to have to wade through PC.
