US 108 111 Stacked headlights - plastic triangle?
I lost my decoder ring and can't figure out which of those triangular plastic lenses goes in which position on the US headlights used in W108 and W111 cars. The difference is that either the top of bottom (I think bottom) has a slightly raised casting along the flat (flatter) side of the triangle close to where the edge of the lens would meet the chrome bezel surround. I can't figure out if that portion of the lens goes on the left or right side of the headlight bezel or the top or bottom of the headlight bezel.
If we can limit the language to "top or bottom" and "inner or outer" with inner being the side closest to the radiator grill and outer being the side closest to the side of the car it would make it easier than for us to determine right or left and from what perspective. Three pics are attached with the raised area of the casting circled in red. Who knows the answer, or who can go look on their car and tell me the answer...? thanks |

A lot of those reads are going to be from a web bot ( like google ). Do you have a bezel to drop them into? I might have a bezel floating around to have a look.

The line that is molded into one end of the plastic lens always goes on the bottom. So, on which side the lens goes depends on this. There are only two types of lenses--left or right side of the bezel (with the exception of the early cars which had the turn signal bulbs built into them). The bezels are the same for left or right.
