not sure what you are asking? But the main valve and connections are on the passenger side I believe on this car, a line may be loose or broken , which allows some things to work, other to not work

Just a bit of friendly advice.... Almost everyday you post a new thread. Almost every day, people explain that they don't understand what you are asking. I am not sure if it is intentional, but your lack of use of any punctuation is part of the problem. If you took more time to create posts with actual sentences in them, more people would understand your question and you would get more help. Nobody is expecting perfect writing, and I probably have several errors in what I am writing right now. But a question mark (?), and comma (,), and a period (.) each can go a long way to helping others understand what you are trying to communicate.

Seems once again the repeated suggestions to *OBTAIN A SERVICE MANUAL* have gone ignored. There's a reason Mercedes printed these things and they hold ALL of the answers to your questions.
Need a vacuum diagram? It's in the manual! Need a wiring diagram? It's in the manual! Need troubleshooting information for the HVAC system? It's in the manual! Along with troubleshooting flowcharts! Save your hair from being pulled out, get a copy of the FSM. Seriously, it'll save you a lot of time and make life a LOT easier to troubleshoot your car!

To answer the original question......
.... the vacuum switch in the door jamb is there for the vacuum seatback release. These are unique to coupes.

I have a 1976 280C my VIN# starts with.....114.073. 114073 will identify my car to anybody that knows about our vintage MBs. For example, Techs, Service manuals, Mercedes parts shops and the bigger percentage of the listers in this forum. The short version is 114.
