Talking Big Block

As much as you guys think i shouldnt do this, i MIGHT. Its not a definite, but its a possability.

Has anyone replace the engine in a 115 boby, and if so, with what and how difficult was it? Is it worth the money and effort? The car as is isnt worth that much so i dont think replacing the engine will make its resale suffer. Ive seen this done on syimilar cars, someone in my neighborhood owns an old Jag with a 350 in it. The car is very very fast now.

I have seen a few of these come up for sale from time to time. There was a 250C that just closed:

I have always liked the small block V8's. And I obviously like the Mercedes coupes. There is lots of room in the engine compartment of a 115. I think that a really clean conversion would make a great car.

I would worry about the rear end being strong enough, though.

You can shoehorn a small block into 6 cylinder benz w/o trouble. You'll have to customize the exhaust, the engine mounts and the drive shaft, but it will fit. Be sure to take pictures).

Once you get past the expense of the custom work, why were you doing this again ?

The idea is that the car is a 2.2L Gas, in somerthing that weights a ton and a half. So in other words, more pick up. Its just an idea, i have no plans to do this.

Yep, your right. You don't want to do that.
