Beautiful car.

I can't believe the mileage is so low.

I've always loved the 116 body style.

Check out this nice thread on the W116 450 SEL's:

What happened to all the W116 - '73-'80 450 SEL's?

It was while downloading a 400K photo of a speedometer that I thought of that sarcastic remark.

My comment led to me getting called an asswipe, an annoying lad, got me blamed for the general jackassness of Benz folks and led to a new member leaving this forum?

Jeez, lighten up folks.

The art

of Sarcasm requires tact. Your post lacked it. Not in a bad way, but it wasn't obvious. We should all hug.

Yeah that is a gorgeous W116. What is that? Diamond Blue or Silver?
Do you have the Euro-spec headlights up front?
The car looks BIG from the side! Yet it looks slim. Gotta love this design.

There's a solid choco. brown 300SD in my apartment (W116) and it was never washed for more than a month. It looked very neglected. Yesterday it looked so different! The owner washed it. The wheels didn't clean up though.. there were still black dust brake spots!!

A few days ago, a forum member posted a black 450SEL for sale. No rust (CA Car) for $2500? I think... If it was here I think i'd have bought it...

oh well..

Thumbs up thanks for the compliments

the car is Silver and I gotta say I love all of the chrome on it. The car was covered every day and the paint is immaculate...not a single scratch anywhere!...truly an awesome ride...I am very fortunate.

Could you do me a favor and let me know where you live?

Also, when you're gone, leave the keys where I can find them so I can test drive the car.

Oh, one more thing.

I've noticed that it's very hard to pick up 'tone' via these postings.

By tone, I mean humor, wit, sarcasm, tongue-in-cheek comments, etc.

Just something to keep in mind...

Great car! I would love to test drive a nice example of w116 450SEL some day. I'll be shopping for a "New" car next year and I can't decide if I want a real nice old car or an average new car.

Holson - They had the car IN your apartment? How did it get through the door?

That is one truly fine example. You are indeed lucky to have found such a car. Take care of this beauty, but most of all...enjoy it!
