1971 AC Repair NYC Area
The AC in my 1971 280SL blows warm air. It's an original Frigiking, uses R12, all parts and hoses seem to be in place. The AC has not worked in the year I own the car. I'd like to have the system inspected then recharged. Any suggestions for an AC shop in the Metro NY area for this older AC?
Thanks Richard M

Back in the archives is the name of at least one shop in queens.
Having said that, get it converted to R134. It is straight forward, easy to do, it won't cost you much more than R12 plus repair of the system in its current state. Another thing to investigate, is if the compressor needs repair, you can get a Sanden replacement for a few hundred dollars and it eats less HP & weights less. It's a direct replacement of the original. -CTH |
