We had a '82 300D and a 1979 280E for many years, so I still have the manuals. Between them, I think they suffered every imagninable electrical problem, but an OVP relay is news to me.

Anyways, I looked at the electrical section of the factory manual which lists all the relays, and I could not find a reference to an over-voltage relay. There is no reference to it in the wiring diagram. No reference in the Haynes manual on th 123.

So, good luck. The relays are generally clustered near the fuse panel, either in the engine compartment or under the dash on the driver's side.

Using Fast Lane Online Catalogue reference data

Using the sites onlone catalog reference parts data, by the way, which is a very extensive reference as well as a parts purchasing tool. it gave me the part-#- P2056-15530 (overload relay) or M/B- p/n-116 545 00 34. Having purchased the relay, which is an aluminum - red coated - 4 prong relay, approx 1" square in dimension. The location of which im not able to find either in the engine or the passenger compartmemt. So far this is all i can come up with for installation purposes. Any further information would be helpful.
