AT Mod Valve Adjustment (Metal Type)

Going to replace my AT Modulator Valve on my '76 280S. It has the solid metal mod. A message came with it stating:

Achtung!
To prevent gearbox or engine damage the vacuum unit must be adjusted as explained in Workshop Manual before vehicle is driven.

Don't have the workshop manual for it, nor know how to adjust it. Can someone please give me some insight on how this is done?

My many thanks.
