Hello All,
I took 'Miss Daisy', my '60 Finnie on a 500 mile trip this weekend. First, down to Colonial Beach, Saturday, for an AOMC (Antique Outboard Motor Club) meet. Our host had a georgeous house on the Potomac and an outboard flea market. There was vintage outboard racing for 12 foot boats with up to 6HP early '50s motors. I bought 3 early '50s Elgins, cheap. Good thing Miss Daisy has a huge trunk!
Then out to Winchester, Sunday, for the Mercedes Club autocross. Interesting to see a pair of 108 - 4.5s thrashing and spinning around the course, also a pretty, little '67 230SL. Someone even entered a mid '80s 300SDL! Several tried to persuade me to try out my Finnie, but sanity and the need to get back to Alexandria, prevailed. Maybe next time!
