Trip up the PCH

A couple of weeks ago I took my 72 250 on a 800 mile round trip up the Pacific Coast Highway... She ran like a champ at 90, and we had some great times on the beach.

Joshua:

90 mph on the PCH??!! Must have been on the straight parts!

I made that trip in 1980 -- San Diego to Oregon as close to the coast as I could get. Much nicer going north than south ---- too close to the ocean for me!

Wonderful car to drive that highway in, though -- I was in my 75 Audi Fox. Nice, but one notices the FWD in the curves....!

90!

Yep - 90 on the 101 section around Santa Barbara, and on the 5 back. Took us 8 hours to get near San Fran, we spent the night, then decided to get home quicker. Kept the car around 90 - got quite a few stares blowing by new cars!

Love the curves past Hearst castle, and she handled like a champ... not bad for a 30 year old "autobahn bomber"!

I love those curves past Hurst Castle, they are my favorite. Someday I'll get my motorcycle on them.
