Exclamation My Zenith Update

Ok as many have asked my rear heat valve was open and the front one is fused shut. I jammed a screw into to hold the rear one closed for the time being. I guess I can assume that the rear carb is warped among other things.

Anyway I finally went and bought a remote starter trigger today and just wanted to dummy check myself on the connections. I connect the neg to the terminal 50 on the starter and the other end to the pos on the battery. I then also disconnect lead 1 on the coil. Is this correct? Is it possible to fry anything otherwise?

I feel like I'm getting the car to start up easier but I'm still having trouble getting it to idle without stalling. I have been adjusting the fast idle screw forward and that has helped a little. I turned the chokes forward towards rich and that helps a little. The choke flaps on both carbs should allways be in the same position correct?

Terminal 50 is correct. If you are doing valves, you can just shut the ignition off and leave the coil plugged in.

The chokes should open roughly together, but on some cars there is a relay on the rear one that may slow its opening.

Are you having trouble with your warm-up idle? Is the hot idle OK?
