Injection pump timing 87 300D
On a 300D 87, when adjusting the timing is there some mechanism inside the pump that moves or the whole pump moves as it used to on the older models.
In one of the discussion threads someone suggested that by the loosening the three long bolts on the vacuum pump the timing can be adjusted, but there are more then three bolts on the vacuum pump. Can some body explain which bolts? |

The bolts are on the vac pump, but I don't know which ones. You may be able to figure out by looking at the ends that go into the pump flange.
Timing is adjusted with the captive nut on the side of the pump. You must have the tool to adjust the timing, it is set off a point on an arm in the back of the pump (large threaded plug) via a Hall effect picckup and not with a drip tube -- spec is 15 degrees after top dead center. Peter
