Wierd Chirping/Vibration from undercarriage
I've been having this problem lately and I wanted some opinions before I take in the car to be checked out.
Only when the car has been driven for about 10 minutes or so, and only when I come to a complete stop, the car shudders and chirps when I give it gas. It lasts about 2-3 seconds and then the car behaves normally until I stop at a light again. The vibration seems to be coming from the rear wheels (possibly the rear passenger side) and the chirping sound seems to be coming from the Shift indicator area. Any ideas on what my mechanic can check ? Thanks, AARON ROCHARD 1976 230 W115 |

Engine and transmission mounts, especially if you get a drumming vibration under acceleration not related to engine speed. Other possibilities are center bearing and mount, and rear axles.
