I sanded my grill today on my W108
I dismantled my 250S grill and sandblasted all the insides of the little squares. Couldn't figure out a better solution.
It came out very clean! But now, the front was fairly pitted. Unfortunately, the only access I had to a blast cabinet big enough to accomadate this shell, had sand in it instead of the preferred glass bead. Oh well, I just had at the front with the palm sander! Came out great too, got it nice and shiny. Then covered everything in clear lacquer. While it was apart, I took the time to beat out the dents in the grill with a rubber mallet. The picture is crummy (low res digital) , but you can see the reflection of light coming off the polished grill.
