vin number/1973 450sl

Can any advise me how to check my car's vin# for vechicle history,recalls etc. Note the vin starts with 107, no letters only 14 numbers.

See if the dealer nearest you can process your request, but more likely you will suffer the same fate as I did, they couldn't find anything. Gave the excuse of being too old for their records.

What your VIN can tell you:

107 - the chassis

107.XXX which specific model of 107

107.XXX.12 or 107.XXX.11 That the car is equipped with left hand drive( 1st 1) and an auto tranny (2) or a manny tranny (1).

107.XXX.12.XXXXXX The last six digits are the individual identifiers.
