Question though......... how did you do that?

Not make the card that is, but make a link that turns up in the browser address window without the .html or .swf file definition thingy?

Most webservers assign a default name for an "index" page when a page is not specified in a link and an "index" page is present it will load the index.htm instead of listing the contents of the directory.

Most servers use index.htm or index.html for such a page but some use welcome.htm or whatever they like.
