Aaron,
What does Becker do to 'tune up' one of these Mexico radio/cassette units and what did it cost? I have one of these. The radio plays fine but the tape transport was dead. I replaced some of the rubber drive parts and now the tape works but the speed is slow. Happy Motoring, Mark

Mark,
They kind of go through the entire radio unit, clean and lube everything as needed and replace any inoperable components. Price varies depending on what is wrong. The basic "tune-up" which I had done cost around $135. Everything works great on the radio, except the "stereo" indicator light did burn out. That's easy enough to fix though.

Thanks Aaron,
I've only tested the radio with a 12V-AA battery pack. Maybe the tape speed will be normal when it's connected in the car. Then I can see if I need to send it to Becker for surgery. Happy Motoring, Mark
