Hey, I'll try this one.
It is located at the back of the block close to the firewall, at the hottest place it can be on the engine. Last time I checked, I think it was a simple 1/8 pipe fitting for the sending unit, but it has a small gas filled hose that goes to the guage, I don't remember how it all hooks up, mine still works fine, but I did take it out one time to hook up a direct reading guage to see if it was reading ok. I think the MBZ system is more accurate than the direct reading guage I tested with. I may be wrong, hope someone else can help us!

Which temp sender are you asking about?
The one for the dash gauge is like F-8 explained, if you want to replace, you gotta replace the whole enchilada. Have to be careful with the capillary tube or it will twist/kink and you'll have no gauge. Large $$$$$ for a replacement. If you mean the 212* switch, that is at the front of the intake manifold, brass module just to the left of the intake horn. Single wire lead going to it.
