When I replaced the old center console on my resto project I inadvertantly threw away the inner console metal plate that connects to the ac/heat levers/lights and the rear defroster switch. Can anyone help me to locate this piece. There are no pull yards in New York City. I have gone to junk yards and have not even come close. I drove 120 miles to a yard in upstate New York and I XXX"d out . Finding this part will end my resto project. I can have her painted and be satisfied that she is all Good and true Merecedes-Benz. Help is needed !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Did you ever find the plate you are looking for? I have a 73 450SL as well and have bought a center console from our local MB yard. May have an extra. Not quite sure the exact plate you are looking for. Also I have a question that I just posted under 73 450SL Red Hot exhaust manifolds, can you help there?

Assuming you bought the "new" console to replace a tattered one, would parts of your old one be for sale?
