front end "clunk"!

I have been concerned for some time now about the "clunk" I get from the right front area every time I hit the slightest imperfection in the road. I thought it might be and engine mount, suspension mount or king pins. Well it wasn't any of those. After installing the new Bilsteins, the "clunk" is gone! What it was, was the right front shock absorber. Upon compressing it for removal, I noticed it didn't recover. The shock was toast. I have never had this happen before and didn't realize a shock could cause this sound. Just thought I would pass this on in case anyone else has the same noise.

Good tip! But the clunk might have still been the king pins...not being under control from the shocks...?

Also look at your subframe mounts. When they perish, they will cause this kind of noise when going over bumps in the road.

Mine in the front were also deflated so to speak. I still need to do my subframe mounts. Putitng in new shocks has made a big difference though.
