1960 220s, 55k miles, help!!!!
ok guys, havnt got pics yet, but will soon. I found this old 60, 220s and bought it for a song, it has 55k miles on it, but it isnt a cream puff. it was last licensed in 67. and has sat outside ever since i believe. has no dents at all and very, very, little surface rust. interior is still intacted but needs cleaned and is complete. and check this out!!! It has a "sliding roof" in it. which is a center panel in the roof that manually slides clear back to the rear seat. like a really long sunroof!!!! how awesome is that?? i have been told this is pretty rare.
the bad news is the guy lifted the hood and someone shut it before he could spray the hinges, thus buckling the hood. also the trany is in a box in the trunk. it has the old automatic/manual trany so this will be fun to learn about im sure. both bumpers have chrome peeling and rusty. i have found a hood. but looking for bumpers. anybody got any info or experiances they wanna share on these tranys??? pics to come soon. thanks

What is your car's serial number? If it is a Ponton, it must be
one of the last ones made. There is an article on the Ponton web page regarding the transmission. I have also read an article somewhere that is quite critical of the thing. Here is the reference article: http://www.mbzponton.org/valueadded/maintenance/hydrak.htm
