Welcome me to the world of the 108s!

Greetings,

I just took delivery of Aaron's 280SE. What a beautiful car! I's psyched!

Couple of questions (just the first in a long list, I'm sure): Where is the best place to get parts? And, can I remove the dash wood without removing the dash? I think I read something about this but I can't find it now.

Peter

Peterl,
Yes you can remove the wood without removing the dash. As for parts, not to be too general, but there are many, many places to get used, new, & rebuilt parts for that chassis. Please post any specific parts questions and I'm sure you'll get many replies.

Peter:

Welcome!

However, I think the Devil made these cars -- I find myself driving my 280 ALL the time, in spite of the fact it uses at least twice as much fuel as any of the others.....

Parts are available, but some are getting rather expensive.....

Peter

You'll love it.

Start with the easy and inexpensive fixes first, then build up to the more costly ones. You'll love being able to surprise a few folks that a stock 30+ year old car will smoke them on the highway. Nothing like the feeling of running one of these old gals up past the century mark, I know I enjoy it (and did so yet again yesterday morning) even though it cause mileage to dip.

Peter,

Additional parts are are on the way as promised. As soon as the things arrive from my Cleveland workshop, I'll pack them with the blower and ship it ASAP. Oh, on the vapor lock, I am checking on the P/N for the hot start relay. Will advise on that shortly.
