88 300te driver window
I have an 88 300te, the drivers,( and rear right,) windows blow the fuse, intermittent, replace the fuse its ok for awhile use the window some and then it goes again. Only recently bought car, was ok for few weeks. Where should I look first,? window motor? It was a little slow but not too bad.

While your car is a bit newer than most on this forum I'll give it a shot. Sometimes the wiring gets damaged where it connects at the door jamb but you said your window was slow so first, pull off the door panel and lube the window regulator. A spray grease for the slides and guides (but no lube in the rubber window channels!) then a squirt of oil at the regulator pivot pins. If this doesn't free up the window action your problem may be the motor. Sometimes the motors can be dissassembled for repair but most likely you'll need to replace it.
Happy Motoring, Mark

Broken wires in the rubber boot at the door opening can cause shorts, hence slow windows (bad connection) and either refusal to move or grounds, hence blow fuses.
I'd pull the boot and check for bad wires -- they will show a kink if the wire is broken inside the insulation -- and evidence of shorts. Otherwise, a bad motor can blow fuses if the current draw is too high. You will need to replace the motor, it's not really rebuildable. Peter
