murray720,
I didn't know either as I can't post pictures with my WebTV anyway. I hoped some of you with REAL computers would know the answer. your seats look like MB Tex, as fitted to the 1970 or later cars like my '72 W114 body 250 and 250C. If my monitor is accurate, your seat color looks like a perfect match to my original leather. If I decided to change my seats, it would be nice to retain my original door panels. I don't think Mercedes used that style of headrest before 1969. It looks like your original seats were changed out for ones from a 250 or 280S as your door panels appear to be black, but should really match the seat color. (Hey, maybe you could get Josh's black seats to go with your door panels and I could get your brown seats to go with mine!) happy Motoring, Mark

murray720.
I just noticed that your door-post is missing the trim cover and it's painted red. Was that your Finnie's original color? I also noticed your door-post looks slightly different and had an extra hole that my '60 220S didn't have. I presume it's for attaching the optional shoulder belt, that was required in some export markets, like Sweden, by the early '60s. Happy Motoring, Mark

Murray, $125 for a complete set of black MB-Tex 67 230S seats in very good condition! Complete with mounting hardware if needed. It will likely bolt right into you car with no mods neccesary. I'll get some pics asap. Plus, you live in Sherman Oaks, my old neighborhood, so it wouldn't cost you 3arms and 4 legs to get em from northern california, Sonoma to be exact. My roomate complained about the car seats being in the house!! Don't push that button is my advice.

it was about two years ago that i saved this old girl and as far as i can tell her history is a bit sorted. i bought her from an older body shop guy who ran out room. he had a few other mercedes and also a mercedes kit with a ford escort engine (um ok). The first thing he told me was that she leaked water and that to prevent overheating he only drove the car a few miles a week. well the water pump cracked on my test drive so i was able to get the car extremely cheap.
The history I know is as follow: originally a maroon 1963 220b auto trans w/sunroof miles unknown changes (prior to me): -chrome and interior wood to 220s spec -bumpers off later model MB -white paint -euro headlights -attempt at replacing the headliner with cheap cloth and did not cut hole for sunroof (my first interior order of business) -seats off later year MB my changes -m127 engine my future changes: -interior (not sure on color but must have low-back seats) -paint (again not sure on color but most likely MB White) I hate to say it but she’s a frankenstein |

I don't know what you mean by that but if you mean Herbie the Love Bug, then I'd have to say no they're not from there.
