I wouldn't mind saying "My car" whether a celeb owned it or not! What a beauty!

I used to envy people who had beautiful cars. Then I realized that I would never have cars like that, and started just admiring them. That is, until I saw this one. Man, the stuff that dreams are made of...

Remember riding in one years ago; could get seriously in trouble looking at this a bit too long. Better to continue researching leather restoration, I think....

Only in Southern California will you find a MB 600 parked in the driveway of a 1950s, 1200sf, stucco tract house! Reminds me of why I left.
Oh, envy too! It is a remarkable car. I'm betting it doesn't get its reserve price on eBay, though. Catrinus 73 280C (which is a way, way poor distant 4th cousin-in-law to the 600). |

600 = money pit; that is the reason they all have low mileages. The owners cant afford to drive them.
Water pump cost 5K and the list goes on... |

I wonder if they would sell the 6.3 engine on its own, along with all the wood and door trims?
They can keep the rest |

European Connection in Falmouth, KY has several 6.3s available, call Bernard for information -- he tried to sell me one for my 72, but we never got to the price part.....

Word has it that this particular seller plays fast and loose with the facts -- so I wouldn't touch that thing with a 20 ft pole.

At least he made the corrections. I caught the Pullman and the Euro headlights.
The real problem is that the hydraulics are super expensive. The seats, sunroof, windows, spare tire are hydraulically operated. The windows operate very fast and the are quiet. I had a ride in one when I was a kid in grade 12. A man down the street was a salesman at HBL MB when they were in Fairfax. We had the 300SE LWB at the time. The car is just incredible. I wouldn't want one because of the parts cost. Most everything about the car is unique to it.

If you want to look at more 600s, Karl Middlehauve is the man to see. He has a website, just put in his name and 600... Neat cars, great guy, amazing detail.
