Anyone have a easy way to replace a door stop on a 1974 450 SLC. I tried to check the situation out but there does not seem to be enough room to make the change without removing some other items. HELP....it would be greatly apreciated.

You've got to remove the door panel to replace the door-check.

Its not difficult to do.... after removing handle and hardware, the door panel "unbuttons" from clips holding it to sheetmetal. Use a regular screw driver or stiff putty knife to feel around the edges and find the clips.

While you are in there - lubricate the door lock and window mechanism very lightly with graphite grease. An old timers trick is to rub window glass edges with an ordinary wax candle, applying layer of wax for smoother window operation.
