Guys , Help I thought it was just the contacts, but no.
Is there a horn relay on 1971 250c's ?

No relay, but sometimes the horns short internally, making the good one sound continously.

I spend twenty minutes in a driving rain once remove the horns from my 220D rather than drive it with the horns on -- never fixed them, though.

A short to ground somewhere in the wiring to the steering column will also make the horn sound, as will a shorted contact in the steering wheel hub.

My diagram shows a feed to the horn from fuse 2 (black/green), and the ground completed by the horn ring (black/green/rose).

No relay.

I wonder if the wire to the horn ring is grounding on its own?

we need to drive it daily now, since they stole my Mom's toyota last sunday.
She likes the benz better than the new cars, atleast the ones we could afford. So .. i am trying to go thur safety stuff.. brakes , horn.
steering to make sure we don't have any problems.
would you , or could you email me the wiring diagram you have?
I tryed to ground the hormn at the button but not a thing happens so the ground id open somewhere.
Also interestingly enough i was thinking of cleaning the fuse block
with a wire wheel to try to remove any oxidation. #2 will will get my attention in the morning .. thanks !

I called the local benz yard, after Ilooked at it and he says theres a spring that holds it off. very comon ? but i want a new spring not pay 10 bucks for another old one. anyone know a parts place that has one?
