Rebuilding Ponton Solex PAITA Carbs
I bought a pair of rebuild kits to install.
The carbs were both leaking, although the pattern of leakage was different. Carb one is done and back on the car. Carb two is coming off today. Carb one was very clean inside. The bowl gasket was leaking as were some of the little plug gaskets. Looks good now. The top triangular diaphram was in poor shape. Also, the main bore gasket was installed backwards. That meant that one bore was larger than the gasket and the other was obscured partially by the gasket. That couldn't be good. Last point: the rebuild kit doesn't include the diaphram for the accelerator pumps. Why is that? I need to order them separately now. After getting the kits, I found this site: http://www.forparts.com - Olympic Imported Parts. The part number for my Solex 32 PAITA is 162-8056 which they list at $24. This is cheaper than I paid.

I'm assuming like the kits for the Zenith Carbs that I have that there are two kits one that has more parts in it including the diaphragms and one that doens't. In your case I don't know which will be less expensive to buy the diaphragms seperately or the kit that includes them.
