Im way out of my element here (I got a diesel MB) and Im looking for info for a bud about performance parts for older MB 4 bangers. 2200cc , motors. . Looking at putting 250 heads on it. It's in a Unimog. Unimog 404's had same motor as some of the older MB cars but some different carbs.

Anyway.... anyone got hints? tricks of the trade, know where to get cams reground and/or headers etc.???

Long time ago, had problems with 280/8 camshafts and looked into having cams resurfaced...... ditched the idea when discovered problems in process of adding metal to existing, worn out camshafts.

You should probably post this in Diesel Forum - re: souping up diesel engine - first thing I'd think about is polishing air intake manifold ports..... soft alloy metal that could be buffed smooth with flexible wire brush drill bit.
