VIN locations

Hello all,

Can anyone tell me where the VIN numbers are stamped on a W114 250CE 71? The stamped plate was previously removed from the front of the rad, and I can't find where on the firewall the other one is supposed to be.

Thanks.

Ronán.

Another VIN question

Hi,

I have a 1984 300SD, and I have some confusion over the VIN. The Data plate on the drivers door jamb, and the metal plate on drivers side of the windshield have the same VIN. The # stamped into the firwall, does not match the others. Is that normal, or what?

Thanks,

300SDOwner

Stamped metal tags on, windshield pillar-driver's side and door pillar -driver's side.

The windshield tag MIGHT be under the trim piece if someone has replaced the trim piece for whatever reason.

Sounds like your front "clip" was replaced (either accident damage or rust), hence why the VIN #'s don't match. Makes more sense than replacing both the door pillar's VIN AND the VIN on the windshield plate.
