VIN locations
Hello all,
Can anyone tell me where the VIN numbers are stamped on a W114 250CE 71? The stamped plate was previously removed from the front of the rad, and I can't find where on the firewall the other one is supposed to be. Thanks. Ronán. |

Another VIN question
Hi,
I have a 1984 300SD, and I have some confusion over the VIN. The Data plate on the drivers door jamb, and the metal plate on drivers side of the windshield have the same VIN. The # stamped into the firwall, does not match the others. Is that normal, or what? Thanks, 300SDOwner |

Stamped metal tags on, windshield pillar-driver's side and door pillar -driver's side.
The windshield tag MIGHT be under the trim piece if someone has replaced the trim piece for whatever reason. |

Sounds like your front "clip" was replaced (either accident damage or rust), hence why the VIN #'s don't match. Makes more sense than replacing both the door pillar's VIN AND the VIN on the windshield plate.
