The 300SE was relatively rare back then. I remember seeing one in the 1962 Italian film 'Boccacio 70', but as a limo for a church official, not a gangster.

Hapy Motoring, Mark
IIRC, there are a number of movies with the 220S fintails. A few German language cold war dramas with 300SEs, BMW 3 litres and a smattering of diesel taxis.
The fintails chasing Sean Connery"s Bond are 190s or 200s, right? Round headlites?

Several Ponton sedans chase Sean Connery and his Aston-Martin in 'Goldfinger', but in the 1969 film 'On Her Majesty's Secret Service', Bond (played by George Lazenby) is in a red Mercury Cougar and chased onto an ice race-track by Blofeld's goons in a Black S-type Fintail. As it often happens in these films, the chase ends when the Mercedes overturns and explodes.

I'd like to see some of those 'German language' films.
Years ago in my area, we used to get a variety of obscure, but interesting, foreign films on late-night TV. Fortunately, I was able to record some of them when I had the chance because now, the 'Late, Late Movie' has been replaced by all-night infomercials!

Happy Motoring, Mark

My Oil Pressure

By the way, what is your oil pressure at idle? Be sure and check out Munich Taxi's post in this forum "Need help with oil filter sealing ring". There are a couple of small rubber rings that are essential to oil circulation through the filter, without them, it may be bypassed. I just found out that I might have been running under these conditions for some time.

Check with the techs if there is any doubt.

The only time the oil pressure ever drops is when the engine is hot and I'm at a stop light with the transmission in Drive, it will drop to the 35/40 range. No problem there.

FL_116,

Yes but do you have all the necessary parts in the filtration system? Do you have one of those booklets that shows every nut and bolt in the car? Check those diagrams against what you have in your cannister filter. Double check with the techs is my advice, but be skeptical if they say you don't need what is shown.
