Carseat in 450SEL

I recently aquired a 1977 450SEL that I plan on using for recreational use. I have a two year old son and would like to take him along also. The rear seat belts seem to be very stout, but there is no anchor point for the rear strap. I wouldn't expect there to be one of course...

Does anyone have any experience in custom installing a car seat center anchor point that is safe? This is for the strap that comes out the back and should attach to the rear deck somewhere.

I would like to take him along with us, but am hesitant without that center strap...

Any ideas?

Thanks,

Tom

Well. I have a '72 SE 4.5 and similar carseat issues. I have two carseated kids. Carseat installation in general is a pain in the backside, and a tad more difficult with older cars.

I have carseats w/ no center strap in the back and require just a lapbelt for installation. Good luck finding them, however, as there is no exact science to this problem.

Signed,
--Dad with a very cool car.
