is this a HOG RING???

Okay I've taken the split rear seat out of my wagon and begun to remove the upholstery so i can install the heating element for heated seats.

I was told there would be hog rings to remove and replace. Is this one of those?

Now how does one go about replacing a hog ring? Thanks a lot.

Yes that is a hog ring.
Peyton - go to your nearnest "Feed and Seed" type of hardware store. Get a bag of hog rings and the plier/applicators that go with them. Very low $$ purchace.

Make sure they are long enough to go around the strapping on the springs if necessary, and hog rings are usually triangular when closed, not circular.

The MB manual recommends using heavy string to sew the padding back down. Make sure you have the seat cover fitted correctly before attaching the listing to the padding or the apron or seat will be wrinkled or crocked!
