Question Shock absorbers 1975 280se

need to replace original rear shockers. never having been down this road, do i get genuine merc. or aftermarket type? anyone have any info? would prefer to do it right 1st time! This will be the 1st time anything of note is being fixed on this car. Is still a rarely driven 1 owner.

I recommend Bilstein 'Comfort' or Boge. I've had no experience with Sachs or Konis. I've tried KYB shocks on Mercedes and they ride hard. A friend was happy with them on his '87 300SE, but on my '72 250, the the front KYBs eventually started to come apart and rattle! Most Mercedes owners I've heard on ths Forum, haven't been happy with Monroes or Gabriels.

Happy Motoring, Mark
