1970 Mercedes-benz 250 /8 W114
Check out the roof line of this coupe. It looks like it was cutomized. Look like this cr has been sitting in the Bat Cave a bit to long. I'd love to have a closer look at the roofline.
I found this on a German used car site. |

I enlarged the picture and it looks normal to me.

Ugh
I'm such a neophyte. The picture was even smaller when I first looked at it. It looked strange to me for some reason. I was bouncing back and forth with about 14 windows open....doing email.....yadda, yadda, yadda....
I wonder if anyone spiked my coffee this morning? Hmm, not a bad idea at any rate. Back to work...... |

Well, you were HALF right. While the roofline does appear normal for a 114 Coupe, it's an interesting fact that a 114 Coupe IS chopped slightly from a sedan. I believe that's why neither the front nor the rear windshields from a sedan will fit a coupe. Also FYI, the doors of a coupe are a little longer than a sedan, too (to facilitate the poor backseat passengers getting in and out, I hear!).

No joke about the front doors, they are probably 8+" wider than sedan doors.... also pillarless roof with completely open air feel with windows down. All that and normal MB front grill are fine selling features of the 114 coupe in my opinion.

You would think so, but there are just too many on the market. It kills me to see good examples going for under $2500 - less than the cost of a decent paint job. A nice one sold a couple of days ago on eBay for $1725.

Here in LA they can go for a lot of money, even that you see them more then the later 123 coupes. I looked at a really nice red/red 250C for almost 7K.
