what torque for a 69 280se transmission pan?

I was changing the trans fluid, and cant seem to find the torque value for the transmission pan. It has the gasket that seems to fit into a groove in the transmission body. I wasn't sure if it should be tightened all the way, or if this would deform the pan.

Thanks.

Gotta figure unspecified torque settings at/near 26-28 ft lbs - or strong pull on short handled ratchet..... sure as hell nothin higher cause you dont want to completely bash the gasket that should probably be lightly wiped with tranny fluid before it goes in place..... old mechanic's trick - never apply any gasket "dry" and torque all nuts equally in graduated method of tightening bolts opposite each other little-by-little - workin your way around the pan....... and Bravo the tranny fluid and filter screen service!! - somethin i think MB recommends at least each 50k miles that lotsa people neglect.
