Adding a ribbed pulley

On a 72 4.5 What would be the simplest method for adding a ribbed (modern) pulley section to the lower crank pulley? Patient welding or is there a bolt on out there?

Just wondering: Why? The water pump can't be overtensioned or it'll fail, and I would think a serpentine belt would have to be too tight to keep from slipping and it wouldn't work.

Look at a more recent MB V-8 and check what parts it uses and the routing. I like serpentine belts. All my cars have them and some are easier than others to change.

Probably to run his McCullough style supercharger that he bolted up to his old AC compressor bracket.

Actually I'm trying to get an eaton 90 in without bulging the hood.
Think I'm going to try a deep double V pulley on the eaton and hope they don't fly off, like on my Dads old Corvair.

I have a 4.5 inch, 5 groove pulley that, I believe, came off a '90s Honda waterpump.
I say believe because I found it laying in the street. It's still bolted to the flange that sheared off the waterpump shaft and it looks like a Honda wateroump flange to me.
I was thinkng of using it to add AC to my '60 Fintail 220S. My Fintail engine has 3 bolts on the end of the existing pulley/balancer that I could use if I center and drill 3 matching holes in the Honda pulley. Many years ago, I succesfully used a V-belt Honda pulley to drive the AC in my '61 Ponton 180b. I Don't know if your V8 has such a convenient arrangement. This multi-groove pulley looks sturdy enough for an AC but I'm not sure about a supercharger. Try your local salvage yard for more and better choices in pulleys.

Happy Motoring, Mark
