Read this tosbt:

Attention: Mercedes Drivers

Make sure you check this. My mechanic said that a lot of people mix this up because it will go in either way.

Tim: I examined mine and the plug (at least for mine) can only be put in one way!

That is very interesting. Does it not fit in at all the other way? The previous owner could have had it replaced.

You can't tell by looking at it. There is a rubber cover over the plug. The plug pulgs into that whole MAP unit. Take the plug out and look for the wire with the green stripe. Then put that in #7, which I believe is the bottom.

Tim: He's not talking about the plug boot, he's saying there's a plug blocking the allen screw.

tosbt: Pry it off! See Peter's first post

If you've ever seen PC molex plugs, the concept is similar: The plugs are "D" shaped, can only go in one way:

Well mine fits in both ways very easily. Now that I think about it, I think that mine is "D" shaped, but it still fits in. The hole might have been expanded.

Adjusted my MAP with a generous 1/4 turn CW. Car runs smoother with less "low gear feel". That's about it car has original 54,000 miles and drives like a new one everything works and drives and handles pefectly. Real pleased, now to that paint job, should make an intresting topic in months to come. THANKS TO ALL FOR THEIR GOOD ADVICE!!
