Wood Work..

ALLO.

How to r&r the two pieces of dash wood (hockey sticks)
on the '67 mb, 250 SE coupe.?? they go around the rear of the dash and the bottom of the windshield. the car has an
a/c unit attached below the center bottom-dash area.

a step-by-step procedure would be most helpful.
pls. advise.

many tanks, in advance...

They've got blue plastic thumb nuts on threaded dowels attached to the wood at various intervals from below. Figure you must at least pull the glovebox, center radio speaker and cardboard from below the dash - then squirm around underneath and MAYBE get lucky and be able to reach them any way you can.... otherwise, the blue plastic nuts unscrew easily with fingertips - er, if you can reach them.

Also you've gotta pull the easy-to-reach wishbone shaped wood trim pieces from side/top of windshield before pulling the hockey sticks..... but focus on reaching those blue plastic thumb nuts first.

-Good Luck

ALLO.

OK ! I need a tiny gymnast, with the skilled hands of a
surgeon and the patience of Job. Also, need to be lucky.

Will the a/c unit need to come out ? It's in the center of
the dash bottom, about knee level...

I don't need a major project. a simple chore....

Am beginning to learn why they were not c/o before.

I showed the car at the Murphys Concours, in Northern
Cal. last september. The current sticks need to retire...
There is water/sun/uv damage to the area near the pillars.

How much time, with skills, tools, experience would it
require to R&R? Say from an pro shop ?

Many tanks:)
