4spd auto wiring

I have a 68 230 with a Terminal block on the side of the tranny...all the wires are off of it.. I bought it like this... is there a guide for how these wires re-attach?

I cannot find it in my books...

thanks!

Brian

Brian, I think the only electrical tranny hookups on the 114/115 are neutral safety startup switch and backup lights.

My guess is that previous owner had problems with troublesome neutral safety switch so he disconnected the wires. Meanwhile you should probably check to see if backup lights are working..... or if you need them at all.

If he disconnected them, he must have wired them together somewhere, or else the car would not start.

The violet and violet/white wires are for the starter lock-out.

The green/yellow and black/yellow/red are for the backup lights.

Put the car in R and find the two pins on the trans that have continuity and connect the backup light wires to those and the starter circuit to the others.

There is an adjustment in or behind the terminal block if you are not making contact at the appropriate point. You may have to remove the trans mount and drop the trans down and shove it to the right to get at the terminal block. That's what I had to do on my 280C

I think these wires are for the solenoid on top of the transmission...

I have 3 wires that come out of the firewall... one goes to the kickdown switch...

2 go ??? they are beige

4 wires come of solenoid and go to block in what order?

1 goes from kickdown switch to what terminal on block?

thanks

I think i figured it out... from front to back i did as follows

1 lead to the kickdown
2 commons...(continuity test made them Positive with 1 of other 2 leads)

2nd screw I did one from solenoid and one from firewall 12 volt

3rd screw I did one from solenoid and one from firewall 12 volt..

my tranny shifts and kicksdown.. wahoo...

2nd gear seems to wind up to shift then 3rd and 4th are pretty quick...

probably just needs to be driven for awhile.. now I need to get some tires..
