My machinist finally had to ask me a question.
He has a customer that dropped off a mid-60s 220se head, but the valves are funny. He says he's since this once before and remembers having a hard time figuring it out. Unfortunately, it was long enough ago that he doesn't remember the details.
Seems that these valves have a square grove in them instead of the usual half-round one. That means the keepers are "funny", and also the valve spring caps are funny. That much he remembers, but what he doesn't have handy, is an idea of why.
Are these valves from a mid-50s engine? What's the secrete. The head was worked before, so it could easily have been a scroung job in the dim past.
