Sounds like you should have swapped shifters to put the floor-shift in the CA car. I do think a column-shift is kind of 'Retro' these days. I enjoy passenger's reactions to the manual '4 on the tree' in my 60 Fintail. Personally, for $23,000, I'd hold out for a manual 4 speed SE coupe.

Happy Motoring, Mark

All the money for a repainted coupe in that color. The SCM guidance is 20-25K.

See link. Looks like a similiar car and same color but no sunroof-should give you a good idea as to price when the action closes in 2 days.

Looks pretty damn good. One problem though:
In the 5th pic (2nd row, middle) you can see the options plate...

It appears silver whereas the rest of the car is gold. Not the original color? Deduct a few grand right there...

These coupes are coming out of the woodwork! I'd love to get one...

On this vehicle the green mb tex/ white steering wheel combination looks great -- eye catching and not too common.

d.s.

I live in St. Louis and would be happy to go look at the car. I don't know anything about the 3.5 but I could definately get a feel for the shop.

As for a garage, I don't know of any - I'm still looking for shop to properly service my w126. There always is the dealership though...

Anyway, let me know if you want me to check it out.

DS,
Check www.collectorcartraderonline.com. There were 50 280se listed. I didn't go through to see if there were any with 3.5 engines. If you need a 3.5 with manual 4 spd. trans I've got one in a parts slc. It is a 1973 Euro with 100K miles.

I know of a 3.5 coupe stick shift coming on the market soon - black with red interior. I'll see if I can attach a picture - I don't if this will work or not.

The car is in west Texas. I formerly owned the car - it's a very solid car. I will post a note here when the pictures/info/price are available - should be in a week or so.

I wound up buying that black, manual 4, 3.5. I drive it often. I absolutely love it.

BTW, Dean, I spoke with you months ago just a day or two before I closed the deal. Thank you for your help.

Here's a picture of it next to my father's '61 Jag.
