dodged a bullet

300D:
The oil cooler hose started to leak. I got to my destination alright, but noticed a small puddle of oil under the car as I was about to leave. It was night, so only then did I noticed the whole left side of the car was covered in oil. That explains why it was pulling hard right the last few miles of my trip during braking.

I had thought that one of things I needed to do was replace the oil cooler hoses. DON'T JUST THINK ABOUT IT, DO IT!!!! Those old ones were hard as a rock.

I really got lucky, could have roasted the engine. . .

Josh - sounds similar to my tranny cooler line incident - you're lucky engine oil isn't quite as flammable or you could've had a mess too!
