Is Anyone Watching 'A Car Is Reborn'

On the Discovery Home channel? It's on Saturday night and Sunday Morning. It's an English show and Mark Evans found an old XKE and is restoring it. The basic procedures are shown but little real detail. There was lots of rust and much of the floor pan and sills were replaced with new parts.

It's a good show. Granted, it (and it's sister show 'A Bike is Reborn') are pretty lightweight, but it's entertaining. You also get to keep up with English expressions, like 'fully sorted' and 'looks the business'!

My only gripe is trying to decipher what the 'weekly classic car tester' guy is saying as he races around the track. He's got a thick brogue and then add a little engine noise = these lazy American ears can't keep up with what's being said.

Yeah, I've seen Mark Evans' shows. He also made a show about building an AC Cobra replica based on a Ford Sierra (Euro), and one about assembling a Super 7 kit-car. If I'm not mistaking, he has built a helicopter and an airplane to...

I think those shows are great. It's nice to see what you can do when someone else picks up the bill

That Jag that he found under a blanket in the middle of a field sure needed some work...

That's the car he's currently working on in the shop. I'm sure they've spent tonnes of pounds on it.
