1953 220A Cabriolet Pedal Identification
My main question in this attached image is what the lever/pedal is/does that is in the upper left of the image. I am also wondering what the terms for the R, N, Z are on the fuel selector.

On the "what is this" pedal..... a manually pedal-operated suspension lubrication system??
Maybe it pumps suspension grease through a network of lines and fittings at kingpins, steering and suspension knuckles. One guy here talked about having this feature awhile ago on his 170S. He said it should be pumped only ONCE each 60 - 80 miles. Claimed the problem was that people would overdo it and over-pump the manual suspension lube system, repeatedly overstressing the lube lines at their fittings. |
